Lillian and I have been planning on going to the NY Anime Festival since June, or even maybe before that. I told my mom about it, and asked my brother to be the chaperon. By mid-August, we bought the tickets online. When August rolled by and September came, Lillian and I were really excited for Saturday 27, especially since we were able to watch the first three dubbed episodes of Soul Eater and meet the English voice cast! With each passing day, we looked forward to Saturday. I was stuck with the planning and scheduling, because I'm the most responsible (lol). Friday night, I prepared my lunch, my clothes (a Death Note shirt featuring L, and a Invader Zim sweater)and put all the DVDs I was bringing to get signed in my book bag. On Saturday, I woke up at 6:30 in the morning, got ready, woke up my bro (who went back to sleep) and Lillian came to my house at 7:20 as scheduled. By 7:30 we walked to the train station. By 8:45 we made it to down town New York and walked 5 blocks to Javits Center, where the Anime Festival was being held. It was 9:25 and there was already a line for the booths to open!

At 10:00, they opened and we went straight to the Funimation Booth! We got a ton of free stuff. I took five posters of Holo from Spice and Wolf and some really neat Baccano postcards! I even got a copy of volume two of Baccano! I now have all the volumes of Baccano, so I felt a little accomplished. We walked around some Booths and I was able to get Origin: Limited Edition for $10.00! I didn't bring much money, unfortunately, so I took pictures of things I wanted (lol). I even saw a Yaoi Flag! I wanted to go near it, but my brother doesn't know about my love for Yaoi. He doesn't know what "Yaoi" means, but it had the gay flag, so it was pretty much self explanatory. I even saw some people with some Yaoi pads! It looked like one of those uh..things you would spank someone with ;D

At 10:40 we went back to the Funi Booth to get Travis Willingham's autograph!! He was so sweet!

We went to where Soul Eater was going to be screened even though it was going to start in another hour or so. When we got there, people were already waiting! Lillian and I sat down behind the people that were already there, while my brother went exploring. As time passed by, there was a huge line behind us! Luckily we were the first six people there :D

When the door finally opened, my brother came back, and we went to the third front row from the screen. The Soul Eater cast were in the front, away from fangirls. They were mostly texting and talking to each other. By 1:00 they showed the opening of Soul Eater and before the first episode began, Soul Eater cos players began doing a skit on stage. It was pretty funny, especially since they weren't doing the talking but the voice actors themselves! After that was done with, the fans were able to enjoy the three episodes. I've seen the episodes with subs, so I had a small recollection on what happened. I thought it was funnier hearing it in English, and I think everyone did a fantastic job. Micah Solusod did a great job as Soul, and I hope he'll get use to the "You sound like Johnny Yong Bosch" comments. After the screening, there were some Q&A's but we didn't stay for that. We went straight to Funimation Booth to get the cast's autograph! My god, when we got there, there was a huge line!! Only 120 people were able to get the cast's autograph, and we barely made it! We waited on line for two hours. I forgot that I had to use the bathroom (lol), but when the line began moving and we passed the ladies room, I just had to go (lol). The waiting was worth it though.

Cherami Leigh was really sweet. She liked my Invader Zim sweater and Jamie Marchi , who was sitting next to her, told her that Cherami and I matched, because she was wearing green shoes, which goes with my sweater XD Cherami even showed me her shoes (lol) By the time I got to Todd, I was squelling inside!! I gave him Baccano volume 1 and he was happy 'cause I was the only person who brought it to get it sign. I didn't talk much with Todd since he looked really tired. I don't blame him either Micah Solusod was really mellow for his first convention. He asked me how I liked the show and told him that I really enjoyed it. I told him that I enjoyed his role in Blassreiter. He was so ecstatic when I told him about it, epecially since I was the first fan to say it! Micah said he was worried about how he did, so I'm glad I made him happy XD
Laura Bailey signed my Persona 4 artbook & Brittney Karbowski signed my Red Garden volume. Monica Rial signed my Rahxephon movie and she was escatic about it. The cast were very polite, despite having to sign so many things for their fans, and they thanked us for coming and waiting on line. Well, it was worth it!

By 6:00 we left Javits Center. My brother was meeting his lady friend down town, so he wanted Lillian and I to take the train by ourselves! We're clueless about trains, so my brother explained where we were supposed to go. When we reached the train station and my brother left, I was panicking, because if we got lost, we were screwed! We made it safely home though. Lillian and I powered walked home since we were STARVING! One thing for sure, we're never planning on telling Lillian's mom about the little trip to the train XD

When I have time, I'll post pictures of my autographed DVDs and Soul Eater poster! I may even show my collection of Anime DVDs. It sure has grown since then.
